Samudayik Sarathi (SS) is a not-for-profit making, non-political social institution working to promote the overall development process of the country by imparting social as well as political awareness through active participation of the youths.
Samudayik Sarathi has just celebrated 12th anniversary of its journey began with an idea to support youths, predominantly the catalyst for building a democratic, peaceful and prosperous Nepal through promotion of good governance, political accountability and policy advocacy in 2007 by a group of youth of different cultural and
academic background.
All these years, we have been consistently advancing consciousness, learning the development process and the art of intervention. Our mission and myriad interventions aimed at building a just and equal society have created tremendous impacts, but it is never over just yet.
Samudayik Sarathi, reached out 66 districts and interacted with more than million people through different interventions like 855 Town Halls, 141 Youth Focused Constitutional Dialogues, 20 Training of Trainer, 15 training on Social Accountability Tools, 18 Press Meetings and dozens of capacity building training, campaigns and rallies in Nepal. More than 400 members of parliament, ministers, parliamentary committee chairs and members, political party leaders, chairs of women commission, Nepal law commission, commissioners of election commission Nepal, staff of parliament secretariat and journalist from all over Nepal are vital of our success. Major achievements, among others, we claim that bill on labor act amendment, bill on witch craft (crime and punishment), bill on sexual harassment in the work place, contribution based social security and bill on disappearance and bill on truth and
reconciliation have been passed by legislative body. We have succeeded to incorporate the numbers of significant public recommendation through this process.
Similarly, SS’s involvement in municipal governance, water governance in eastern Tarai and Western part of Nepal remained fruitful. Cross Boarder Meetings to combat human trafficking, Advocacy on women empowerment and gender equality programs were successful to raise the issues on women trafficking and violence against women.
The arduous journey we embarked one and half decade ago will continue, overcoming the odds
and outlasting the blues.
