The research was aimed at observing the governance aspects related to citizens’ engagement, social accountability and transparency in local government on the basis of the given directives, procedures and mechanisms by the ministry.

The pilot project had focused on training, meeting, discussion, survey, and orientation not only to demand side like WCF and CAC but also to supply side like the municipality staffs regarding capacity building on RTI and SA tools. The project had major focus on five accontability tools: Public audit, PETs, revenue monitoring, right to information and social mobilization.

Beauty and innovativeness of this project is comparative analysis through expertise of Freedom Forum in RTI, NEFEJ for radio program, IIDS for research, Samudayik Sarathi for social mobilization and coordination and MuAN for supply side.
