Through Early Childhood Development (ECD), After School Program (ASP), and Child Club (CC), it is creating educational environment in the community. Moreover, it gives slum mothers’ opportunity to work outside which is essential to make their living. It is also able to create a common platform for all squat dwellers to generate harmony among them despite of their geographical, social and cultural differences. Since the inception of this project, it was able to provide an avenue to exchange their views and news organizing in a single space, and resolve their problems through continual dialogs and deliberations.

SS started its first intervention through ECD in Manohara in 2011. The centre provided common space to the children below the age of five for their sound upbringing with tools and skills. Their pre-school learning was also ensured. The engagement of the children in ECD gave an opportunity to slum mothers to work outside in order to make their living.

On the other hand, ASP was designed for school going children who do not have sufficient space in their Squats to practice homework after school. In ASP, students also gain support and guidance for their homework. Through ASP, it aimed to establish proper connection between formal academic studies to informal processes that boost the confidence level of children.

The third intervention under CCSP project is the formation of Children’s Club (CC). It is an endeavour to protect vulnerable children in settlement from the forced labour, child labour, sexual abuses through awareness and sensitization. Moreover, it also ensures the rights of health, education, protection and development.
